We want you to keep your family safe from fire.

Smoke Alarms

Most deadly fires happen at night, when people are asleep. Smoke alarms provide an early warning of a fire, giving people time to escape. It’s important to properly install and maintain your home smoke alarms.

Fire Extinguishers

It's good to have a fire extinguisher on hand. But even if you do, call the fire department first when there's a fire. Fire extinguishers are only firextinguishera stop-gap measure to keep a very small fire in check until the fire department arrives.

If you have a fire extinguisher, make sure that it is fully charged and ready to use.

South County Fire periodically offers fire extinguisher trainings. If you are interested in attending a fire extinguisher training, or if your business is interested in training its staff, please email Community Outreach.
