Doug Dahl is the Interim Fire Chief of South County Fire. Chief Dahl started his fire service career in south Snohomish County in 1989 with the Edmonds Fire Department and worked his way through the ranks to his current position. He also serves on a state interagency incident management team that has been deployed regionally and nationally to wildland fires and other major disasters, most recently for Hurricane Michael in Florida.

The fire chief reports to the Board of Commissioners, which has its own executive assistant. Everyone else at South County Fire is accountable to the fire chief, either directly or indirectly.
