thank you votersThanks to Snohomish County Fire District 1 voters for overwhelmingly approving Prop. 1 on the Feb. 12 Special Election ballot.

South County Fire provides all fire and emergency medical services in Fire District 1. Proposition 1 officially dissolves Snohomish County Fire District 1, which no longer funds or provides emergency services.

Dissolving Fire District 1 will not impact your fire and emergency medical services you receive when you call 911. Fire District 1 ceased providing services on Oct. 1, 2017 when voters approved the creation of South County Fire to serve the area as a regional fire authority.

Your neighborhood fire station will continue to operate as it does today.  When the regional fire authority was formed in 2017, Fire District 1 employees  became employees of South County Fire and continue to serve you from 14 neighborhood fire stations.

Prop. 1 streamlines government and eliminates the unnecessary expense of operating and managing Fire District 1, a special purpose district which no longer serves the purpose for which it was created.
