Post Date:08/16/2019 10:22 AM
No one was injured in a fire that caused more than $75,000 damage to a Mountlake Terrace home late Thursday night.

A neighbor called 911 around 11:40 p.m. to report smoke coming from a one-story house in the 23800 block of 54th Ave. W. No one was in the home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters from South County Fire and Shoreline Fire responded and had the fire under control within about 15 minutes. They kept the fire contained to the garage and attic. The living area of the house sustained smoke damage. The house is uninhabitable. The residents, a man and a woman, are displaced.

Fire investigators are still working to determine how the fire started. It appears the fire started in the garage.
